Oxfordshire
Steeped in history, rich in heritage and awash with natural beauty, Oxfordshire is also famous for Oxford, its university city of 'Dreaming Spires'.
Bounded by Warwickshire to the north-west and by Northamptonshire to the north-east, by Gloucestershire to the west, by Berkshire to the south and by Buckinghamshire to the east, the county of Oxfordshire covers an area of approximately 2,600 square kilometres (roughly 1,000 square miles). It has a population of approximately 600,000 inhabitants and each year this figure is under constant change due to the students attending the famous Oxford University. The main towns comprise the city of Oxford, Witney, Woodstock, Abingdon, Banbury and Henley-on-Thames (home of the Henley regatta).
Oxfordshire has got an excellent road network. The A40 crosses the area, with excellent links to the A34 and M40 main routes, providing easy access to the rest of the UK.
Steeped in history, rich in heritage and awash with natural beauty, the county is a charming blend of bustling market towns, breathtaking natural scenery and over 6000 years of history.
